Montafon Museums

The four Montafon Museums include the Montafon Local History Museum in Schruns, the Gaschurn Alpine and Tourism Museum, the Silbertal Mining Museum, and the Frühmesshaus Museum in Bartholomäberg. The Montafon Local History Museum in Schruns has been open since 1906, making it one of the oldest of its kind in the entire Alpine region. Since 1978 it has had its home in the 500-year-old Stone House on the church square of the Montafon region’s chief town. The museum houses cultural heritage collections from the entire valley and offers a wealth of information on the traditional way of life of Montafon inhabitants. The Montafon Archives and a specialist library, accessible for research purposes, are also located here.
