Rhein-Schauen Lustenau

Description
The Rhein-Schauen Museum, with its carpenter’s and metalworking shops, a locomotive depot and other workshops, has been located since 1997 at the northern end of the town of Lustenau, on the maintenance area of the International Rhine Regulation Organization (established in 1892). Visitors can expect an interesting array of hands-on technology, information on the land and its people, and insights into more than 120 years of living history. Also the present and future of the Rhine River, so closely connected with life in this region, are graphically portrayed in extensive collections of pictures, texts and interactive stations. The International Rhine Regulation Railway, built in 1894, continues to be operated as a narrow-gauge historical heritage train.
