Stickerei – Museum. Archiv. Kommunikation (S‑MAK)

For over 150 years the embroidery industry has been an integral part of Lustenau’s identity. Its history is very closely connected to the community and its people. Two exhibitions can be visited at the S-MAK. A semi-permanent thematic exhibition, entitled "From Idea to Product", focuses on the production of machine-made embroidery. A temporary exhibition presents a selected theme as its main focus for approximately one year. In addition to illustrating and explaining the individual production cycles, the manufacturing process can be demonstrated on three fully functional embroidery machines presented in the exhibition.
